This is a short ebook composed of a series of articles from the Sin and the Soul series on virgopotens.org. This brief work (approximately 7400 words) consists of meditations upon the Sorrowful Mysteries of the most holy rosary while using the visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich as a rich meditative aid. Excerpts from Emmerich’s spiritual classic, The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, are used here to enhance our mental prayer as we devoutly pray the holy rosary. Mediations on all five Sorrowful Mysteries of the holy rosary are offered. Although this ebook is relatively short, it is meant to be read slowly as is the case with all meditative material.
This work, Sin and the Soul, seeks to demonstrate the relationship between our sins and the Passion of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while also looking at the unseen or spiritual consequences that sin has on souls. The human eye cannot perceive the spiritual state of a soul but nevertheless each and every human soul has a spiritual state and God see’s all souls as they really and truly are. With this framework in mind, we meditate upon The Agony in the Garden, The Scourging at the Pillar, The Crowning with Thorns, The Carrying of the Cross and the Crucifixion.
Sin and it’s consequences are real and it is my hope that this little e-booklet may help the reader to consider these consequences in a way that they may not have in the past. My other and primary hope is that this work will inspire people to pray the rosary daily as Our Lady of Fatima has asked of us. The Holy Mother of God always leads souls to her divine Son, Jesus Christ.
